Full text of verdict on HoR dissolution 167 pages long

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has prepared a 167-page full text of the verdict, which has gone in favor of petitioners, on the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) Monday.

Opening the bench session Monday, Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana said the Constitutional Bench issued a mandamus on the writ petition filed by 146 lawmakers, including Deuba, and that a 167-page full-text order was drafted unanimously by the justices as per the demand of petitioners.

The SC had scheduled the hearing on the case for today when pleadings from petitioners, defendants, and amicus curiae concluded about two weeks ago.

The Constitutional Bench gave its ruling today that the second dissolution of the HoR was unconstitutional and ordered to appoint opposition leader Sher Bahadur Deuba as Prime Minister within 28 hours and convene the HoR session.
