Nepali Congress objects to affiliation to B&C Medical College

KATHMANDU: The Education Department of Nepali Congress (NC) has objected to the government’s attempts to offer affiliation to Jhapa-based B&C Medical College against the spirit of the agreement it had made with various groups and professionals.

Issuing a statement on Saturday, the department expressed serious concern at the fact that the Prime Minister held a meeting in Baluwatar and put pressure on the officials of the Medical Education Commission to give affiliation to the college.

The department strongly condemned the actions contrary to the laws, rules and agreements made by the government at different times.

“The Department urges the concerned authority to ignore the unlawful and un-ethical directives given by the Prime Minister and remind it to abide by the prevalent policy, rules and laws,” the statement said.
