Party has lost decent, sincere leader in Chaulagain’s demise: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed sorrow over the demise of Bagmati Province Assembly member and CPN (UML) central committee member Pashupati Chaulagain.

Issuing a statement today, PM Oli, who is also the UML Chair, has extended tribute to the late Chaulagain and condolences to the grief-stricken family, relatives, and well-wishers at this hour of sorrow.

He stated that the party has lost a good and honest leader while the people of the Dolakha district have been bereaved of a sincere people’s representative with Chaulagain’s death.

“The party will always remember Chaulagain’s contribution to the democratic, progressive movement and to the campaign of building a prosperous nation under the UML’s leadership,” PM Oli said in the statement.

Prime Minister Oli also recalled that Chaulagain, who had cultivated an image of a gentle, polite, and affable leader, played the role of a people’s representative dedicated to the service of the people.

Chaulagain passed away due to COVID-19 on Tuesday. He was a Member of Parliament, a member of the Constituent Assembly, and the president of the Democratic National Youth Association Nepal as well.
