Second doze of Chinese COVID-19 vaccine from May 16



KATHMANDU: The government is making preparations to administer the second doze of COVID-19 vaccine brought from China from May 16.

Issuing a press note on Tuesday, the Ministry of Health and Population said the second doze of Chinese COVID-19 vaccine will be administered from May 16.

“The second doze of Chinese COVID-19 vaccine will be administered from May 16, 2021 as per the decisions taken by the Ministry of Health and Population on May 25 and the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center on May 8.

To be launched for a week (May 16-23), the vaccination program aims to inoculate a total of 159, 499 people.

The government had started administering Chinese COVID-19 vaccine to the people in Nepal from April 8.

The China government had provided 800,000 dozes of China-manufactured COVID-19 vaccines.

A wide body airbus 330 of Nepal Airlines Corporation had brought Chinese vaccine to Nepal on March 30.
