JSP leader Dr. Bhattarai bats for nat’l consensus govt to resolve imbroglio

KATHMANDU: Federal Council Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Dr Baburam Bhattarai has suggested forming a national government headed by the leader other than incumbent and former prime ministers.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning, former Prime Minister Bhattarai said a national consensus government should be formed so as to hold the general elections in the next one year.

In the twitter message, he underlines the need to form a consensus government arguing that it is only an option to resolve the current political crisis.

He has called for a board of directors comprising top-notch leaders of all the parties represented in the parliament and former prime ministers to fight the COVID-19 and amend the Constitution.

Already divided over the confidence motion tabled by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Dr Bhattarai’s tweet has hinted that the coalition government initiated by Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba is not likely to gain support from JSP.

The JSP support is a must to form a coalition government by the opposition parties.
