NC leader Thapa accuses JSP of prolonging political turmoil

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Gagan Thapa accused Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) of the latter’s lack of cooperation in ending the ongoing political impasse.

Talking to media persons after the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, NC lawmaker Thapa blamed JSP for not contributing its best to end the current political turmoil. He urged JSP to make its position clear at the earliest.

“If you are to support Prime Minister KP Oli, form the government,” influencing NC leader Thapa said, referring to JSP leaders, adding, “If you are looking for an alternative, come and join hands with the alternative forces.”

He accused JSP of acting as subservient to PM Oli.

In the meantime, JSP leader Laxman Lal Karna refuted the allegation and said the NC and the CPN-Maoist should pave the way for finding an alternative to the incumbent government.

“We will make our decision when the time comes,” he said, adding, “Firstly, they have to table a no-confidence motion or withdraw support given to the government.”
