NC holding CWC meeting at 2 pm today

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Monday.

To be held at the central party office in Sanepa at 2 pm, the CWC meeting will dwell on the upcoming 14th general convention of the party, informed Krishna Prasad Paudel, the chief secretary at the NC’s central party office.

The meeting which was originally called for Friday had been rescheduled for today.

Earlier, an officer-bearers meeting held on Sunday  which was supposed to formally prepare the agenda for today’s CWC meeting, failed to do so since President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel abstained from the meeting, according to an NC leader.

Today’s meeting is likely to change the schedule of the party’s upcoming general convention since the active membership distribution row has not ended as yet.

It is learnt that the meeting will also discuss the latest political developments and preparations for a new power-sharing and the meetings held with the other political parties.
