NC calls office-bearers’ meeting prior to meeting with JSP

KATHMANDU:  Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called an officer-bearers’ meeting prior to a meeting with the leaders of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) on Friday.

The meeting will take place at President Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha at 3 pm, informed Krishna Prasad Paudel, the chief secretary of the NC’s Central Party Office.

JSP leaders and President Deuba  will hold a meeting at the latter’s residence in Budhanilkantha at 4 pm.

“The officer-bearers’ meeting of the NC is taking place at 3 pm. The top-notch leaders of the party will participate in the meeting. The meeting will dwell on the latest political development of the country. JSP leaders will meet with President Deuba at 4 pm,” said Paudel.

The joint meeting to be held in Budhanilkantha will dwell on the new power-sharing in the changed political scenario.

The JSP, the fourth largest party in the federal parliament with 34 seats, has been the most decisive for a new power equation after the erstwhile CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) were restored by the Supreme Court, scrapping their unification as the Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

It is learned that Deuba is seeking an alliance with the JSP for the future political course at a time when the latter has been decisive to save and oust the Oli-led government.
