Leaders close to Shekhar Koirala vow to remain united in NC’s internal politics



KATHMANDU: Nepal Congress (NC) close to Shekhar Koirala have agreed to keep their unity intact in the party’s internal politics.

Leaders vowed to move ahead unitedly at a meeting organized by Koirala at Dhulikhel Tuesday.

Sources said that Koirala was engaged in a “serious meeting” with leaders close to him at the Agantuk Resort in Dhulikhel.

Other leaders present in the meeting were Gagan Thapa, Dhan Raj Gurung, . Chandra Bhandari, Guru Raj Ghimire, Deepak Giri, Jeevan Pariyar, and Badri Pandey.

Party sources said that the discussions basically focused on the current political turmoil after the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), the party’s upcoming general convention, among others.

Meanwhile, the leaders present at the meeting agreed to remain keep their unity intact in the NC’s internal politics.

It should be noted that Koirala has publicly announced that he would contest the presidency in the party’s upcoming general convention.

The source also said that the leaders in the meeting urged Koirala to formally announce candidacy for the party president.
