NCP leader Jhala Nath Khanal flies to India for treatment

KATHMANDU:  Former Prime Minister and senior leader of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Jhala Nath Khanal has flown to New Delhi for his regular health check up on Friday.

Khanal left for Indian capital city Delhi via a flight of Nepal Airlines at 11 am, informed his press aide Krishna Prasad Bhattarai.

According to Bishnu Rijal, the Central Committee member of the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling NCP, Khanal will remain in New Delhi for some days.

Khanal was planning to go to China for the treatment of neurological disorder that causes body tremors but he canceled the idea and flew to India due to China’s 14-day quarantine provision, said his family sources.

With a PCR negative report, a traveller does not have to stay in quarantine in India.

Earlier, Khanal had received treatment in China and America.
