Three killed, three injured in Lamjung jeep mishap



KATHMANDU: Three people have died and three others sustained critical injuries in a jeep accident in Lamjung district.

The deceased have been identified as 34-year-old Yadunath Bhattarai of Syangja, jeep driver Kishor Rai, 26, of Udayapur-1, and Prakash Laudari, 45, of Bhanu municipality-10, Tanahu, said District Police Office (DPO), Lamjung.

Sunil Kumar Sah of Sunsari, Anu Ghale of Lamjung and Sunita BK of Dordi were injured in the accident. The ill-fated Balero jeep, Pradesh 3 01-22 Cha 1383, belonging to 45-megawatt Superdordi Kha Hydro project, had fallen some 120 meters down into the Ledekhola from the road.

The injured are receiving treatment at District Community Hospital, Lamjung, said DSP Ganga Bahadur Thapa, Lamjung DPO chief.

The cause behind the accident is yet to be investigated. Police said they are investigating the case.
