Six leaders, including PM Deuba, in the fray for NC presidency



KATHMANDU: Six leaders, including Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Prakash Man Singh and Bimalendra Nidhi, have registered their candidacy for the post of party president by 5pm Saturday — the deadline for candidacy registration for various posts in the ongoing 14th general convention of the ruling party.

The time for registration of candidature started at 10 am on Saturday and ended at 5 pm.

The NC Election Committee had given two hours for filing complaints against the leaders in the fray for party leadership.

Six people registered their candidacies for the post of NC president in the ongoing general convention that kicked off Friday.

Dr. Shekhar Koirala, Prakash Man Singh and Bimalendra Nidhi have registered their candidacies challenging PM Deuba.

Similarly, Kalyan Gurung and Yuvaraj Neupane independently registered their candidacies for the top post.
