Valley records minimum temperature at 5.6 degree Celsius



KATHMANDU: The minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley has been recorded at 5.6 degree Celsius on Saturday morning, according to Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

This is the lowest temperature of this year so far. It was recorded at 6.2 degree Celsius yesterday.

According to meteorologist Ganga Nagarkoti, the temperature of the Valley is likely to plunge further in the days ahead. The temperature of the federal capital had gone down below minus zero around this time last year.

“The temperature is likely to plunge further in the days ahead in the Valley even though it cannot be predicted how much right now,” said Nagarkoti.

Besides the Kathmandu Valley, the temperature has gone down in various parts across the country, of late.
The minimum temperature of Jumla was recorded at minus 1 on Friday.

There is no possibility of rain until Wednesday. An new weather system will enter the country triggering possibilities of rain in the western part of the country from Thursday, according to the Division.
