Maoists will be leading force again if we work a bit harder: Prachanda



KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the Maoists will be the leading force again if party cadres’ flex their muscles a bit.

Speaking at a party’s program in Dolpa headquarters Dunai on Thursday, he assured cadres that the Maoists would be the majority party in the upcoming election, seeking support of cadres’ in working a little bit harder.

Citing that as soon as the peace process concluded the Maoists became the leading party, he said the Maoists would re-emerge as the majority force in the coming election. He added the current coalition would continue till the election to defeat the Oli trend, referring to CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli’s eccentric ways.

Stating that Dopla was in dire need of development, Chairman Prachanda claimed the Maoists only understood and resonated with the feeling of Dolpa people for development.

Also present at the program, Finance Minister Janardan Sharma gave his commitment to manage as much budget as possible for the development of Dolpa. He adeed he was ready to solve all the problems of the people of Dolpa and aimed to build a dry port at Dho by constructing a road from Jamunaha of Banke to Kato border point between Dopla and Tibet of China.

Chairman Prachanda, Karnali Province In-charge Shakti Basnet and Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, among others, reached the Dopla headquarters Dubai from Upper Dolpa Thursday.

Wrapping up a two-day visit to Dolpa, Maoists team led by Prachanda left for Kathmandu Thursday.
