KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Governors of Province 1, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces have been sworn in Thursday.
President Bidhya Devi Bhandari administered the oath of office and secrecy to Province 1 Governor Parshuram Khapung, Karnali Governor Tilak Pariyar and Sudurpaschim Governor Devraj Joshi at the President’s Office in Shital Niwas, the President’s Office said.
President had appointed the governors of the three provinces on Tuesday on the recommendation of the government.
A cabinet meeting held Monday had recommended to the President to replace the Chiefs of Province 1, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. Accordingly, the President dismissed Somnath Adhikari in Province 1, Govinda Kaluni in Karnali, and Ganga Prasad Yadav in Sudurpaschim as governors.
