CoAS Sharma meets Indian External Affairs Minister Jaishankar



KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Prabhuram Sharma, who is on a visit to India, has called on Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at the latter’s office in New Delhi on Thursday.

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar took to Twitter after the meeting, saying, “Pleased to receive General Prabhuram Sharma, Chief of Army Staff, Nepali Army. His visit underlines the closeness of our relationship.”

President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday conferred the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army on Nepal’s CoAS General Prabhuram Sharma at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. It has been a tradition to confer honorary rank of the General on the Chiefs of Army Staff of Nepal and India in the two countries.

CoAS Sharma is also scheduled to hold talks with Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
