Two die in road mishap



SAPTARI: Two persons were killed in a road mishap at Barmajhiya of Kanchanroop municipality in Saptari district along the East-West highway this morning.

One of the deceased has been identified as Raku Kumar Tiwari of Bihar State of India while the identity of another one has not been ascertained yet.

The accident took place when a bus (Ga 1 Kha 9642) heading west from the east hit an Indian number plated motorcycle (B R 36 R 8173) coming from the opposite direction.

Tiwari and another person were traveling on the motorcycle.

Tiwari died on the way to Biratnagar while another died in course of treatment at Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Hospital, according to the District Police Office.

Similarly, a pedestrian, Rohan Prasad Gupta, 19, of Kanchanroop municipality-1, was also injured in the same accident. He has been referred to Biratnagar from a local Dharmeshwor Hospital for further treatment, said police.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Madhav Prasad Kafle, shared that Area Police Office has impounded both vehicles.
