National Assembly approves recommendation to withdraw bill



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the National Assembly, the upper house of the Federal Parliament, has approved with a majority the recommendation on withdrawing the Railway Bill, 2019. The recommendation was received from the House of Representatives.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dilendra Prasad Badu had, on behalf Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Renu Kumari Yadav, presented a proposal in the Assembly for its approval for withdrawing the bill that is under consideration in the House of Representatives, the lower house of the Federal Parliament. The bill had originated in the upper house.

The previous meeting of the House of Representatives had sent the recommendation to the National Assembly for its approval.

Earlier, NA Chair Ganesh Prasad Timilsina read out the contents of the letter regarding the expansion and reshuffling of the Council of Ministers received from the Office of the President.

The National Assembly meeting has been put off until further notice.
