KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place today.

To be held at 2 pm, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota will read out the letter regarding the extension of the cabinet and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba will submit the third annual report of the Madhesi Commission.

The government is also making preparations to prorogue the ninth session of the parliament saying that it could not run any businesses due to the disruptions by the main opposition CPN-UML.

It has also withdrawn some of the bills due to the continuous disruptions of the UML.

UML has been staging protests saying that the parliament did not relieve 14 lawmakers including Madhav Nepal of their posts despite the party’s recommendation.

UML has been demanding Speaker Sapkota’s resignation on the ground of his ‘partial demeanor’.
