Four killed as jeep carrying wedding attendees meets with accident in Achham



KATHMANDU: Four people have died in a jeep accident that occurred in Panchadewal Binayak municipality-1, Kuika in Achham district.

The deceased have been identified as Jiwan Neupane, 14, Sarpa Bohara, 18, of Panchadewal Binayak municipality-2, Jiwan Jaisi, 17, and Himal Nepali, 17, of ward no 3 of the same municipality, confirmed District Police Office (DPO), Achham.

The accident took place when an ill-fated jeep, Se 1 Cha 1763, ferrying wedding attendees met with an accident while it was returning to Binayak Market with a bride.

According to police, as many as 14 people sustained injuries in the accident. Of them, 12 are receiving treatment at District Police Hospital, Achham and two others have been referred to Nepalgunj.

The jeep had fallen 200 meters down the rough hilly road while backtracking, according to police.
