26 injured in bus accident



KAPILVASTU: Twenty-six passengers were injured when a bus met with an accident at Bankaswasa in Kapilvastu along the East-West Highway last night.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ripendra Singh of the District Police Office, the bus (Bhe 1 Kha 4373), en route from Nepalgunj to Kathmandu, overturned during the night. He added that all passengers were rescued immediately after the accident.

Of the injured, 17 are receiving treatment at Sanjeevani Hospital in Chandrauta, while three are being treated at the Basic Hospital.

Police Inspector Santosh Ghimire of the Ward Police Office, Chandrauta, said the remaining six injured are undergoing treatment in Butwal. He also confirmed that an investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
