SINDHUPALCHOK: Panchpokhari Winter Ultra Trail Half Marathon-2021 will be organized for the promotion of tourist destinations at Panchpokhari Rural Municipality in the district including Panchpokhari Kunda.

To be organized jointly by the Sports Development Council, Bagmati Province, and Panchpokhari Sports Development Committee, the race that is scheduled to take place on November 13 aims to promote tourist areas like Panchpokhari, Aamayangri, Dhukpu, Menjung, Manam, Amilopani, Dukhang, Habeli, Dragan Gufa, Nagidanda, Raithaneshwori, and Chyochyo Danda, said the rural municipality chairperson Tashi Lama. Panchpokhari Kunda is situated in the ninth highest place in the world.

Over 150 athletes including Nepali people from various walks of life and foreign nationals including from SAARC countries are expected to participate in the race, he said. The annual event was halted last year due to COVID-19.

In the open category, entry fees are set at Rs 3,500 each. Likewise, the participants from Sindhupalchok district will be charged Rs 2,500 each while foreign nationals 80 dollars each.
