KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) is hearing a writ petition filed against the special session of the Provincial Assembly (PA) of Lumbini Province today.
A single bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai is scheduled to hear the writ petition.
A writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking to halt the special session of the Lumbini PA.
The writ petition was filed on Tuesday. The writ has been placed at number eight of the causelist scheduled to be heard today (Wednesday).
A special session of the Lumbini PA is being held at 1 pm today to discuss the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel.
A meeting of the UML Parliamentary Party (PP) held on Wednesday morning has decided to move ahead as per the court’s order amid rumors that Chief Minister Pokharel, who is in the minority, is preparing to step down before the special session.
