UML leader Nepal likely to sign dispute resolution pact after SC verdict on HoR case



KATHMANDU: UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal is not inclined to ink an agreement with the establishment faction of the party until the Supreme Court (SC) gives its verdict on the dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR).

UML Leader Jagannath Khatiwada said leader Nepal could not reach an agreement with party Chairman Oli until the court decides on the HoR case. Leader Nepal told so during a virtual meeting with leaders close to him Sunday afternoon, according to Khatiwada.

Leader Nepal also conveyed the same to dispute resolution task force member Ghanshyam Bhusal as the latter visited him by leaving the task force meeting held at Singha Durba Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the task force meeting is ongoing since this morning and members earlier said that the ultimate deal would be made today. However, an official decision has yet to be public. Bhusal joined the task force meeting after wrapping up his meet with senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.

Also, in another development Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had called a Standing Committee meeting at 4 pm Sunday but was postponed after leaders close to Nepal said they would not be able to attend as the dispute resolution meeting was ongoing.
