Flood survivors to be provided Rs 50,000 assistance each household

KATHMANDU: The government is to provide Rs 50,000 assistance per household of flood survivors from Melamchi and Helambu areas of Sindhupalchowk.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority provided Rs 18.3 million in total for 366 households which suffered worst during the recent flood and landslides.

Similarly, the Melamchi Drinking Water Project distributed gabion wires to the affected local levels.

Salt Trading Corporation followed suit by providing 1,500 bundles of corrugated zinc sheets.

It was announced in the programme that Construction Entrepreneurs’ Promotion Fund would provide Rs 600 thousand to Helambu Rural Municipality and Rs 400 thousand to Melamchi Municipality.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had an onsite inspection of Helambu Rural Municipality and Melamchi Municipality on Saturday and handed over the relief fund and materials.
