Speaker informs Province Chief about CM Gurung’s loss of confidence vote



KATHMANDU: Provincial Assembly of Gandaki Pradesh has sent a letter to the Office of the Province Chief informing that Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung failed to secure the vote of confidence.

Gurung had lost the vote of confidence in the provincial assembly meeting held on Thursday.

Only 27 lawmakers cast their votes in favor of Gurung – three votes less than the required number of votes (31).

Speaker Netra Nath Adhikari sent the letter to Province Chief Sita Paudel on Friday informing that Chief Minister Gurung failed to secure the votes of confidence, informed lawmaker Bishnu Lamichhane.

Province Chief Paudel now will call on the Province Assembly to form a government pursuant to Article 168 (5) based on the letter sent by the speaker.
