KATHMANDU: Preparations are underway to extend the ongoing prohibitory order for a week in the Kathmandu Valley.

The last extended prohibitory order is expiring on June 14. The Kathmandu Valley has been under lockdown since April 29.

The Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur are mulling to extend the order.

CDO of Kathmandu Kali Prasad Parajuli said the prohibitory order will be extended since the cases of COVID-19 have not subsided yet.

The upcoming order will be extended with some relaxations, according to Parajuli.

Shops related to essential goods which are opening until 9 am will be allowed to operate until 10 am in the next extended order.
