Big buildings available in Kathmandu to be used as isolation centres



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwar Pokhrel has said that treatment of corona virus-infected people would be made effective by running isolation centers in the big buildings available in the Kathmandu Valley.

Inspecting ‘Radha Swami Covid Isolation and Oxygen Therapy Centre’ today, DPM Pokhrel telephoned to Chief Secretary Dr Shankar Das Bairagi and Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Bidhya Sundar Shakya and directed them to make proper arrangement for running of isolation centers.

Radha Swami Covid Isolation and Oxygen Therapy Centre’ is being brought into operation at Basundhara in the capital city for the treatment of COVID-19 patients.

After Pokhrel’s direction, the Nepali Army is working to bring the center into operation from this week.
The Radha Swami Centre has provided its building for the operation of an 88-bed isolation center with oxygen therapy. Preparations have been made to extend the hospital up to 200 beds as per the need.

The KMC would ensure resources and infrastructures required for the isolation center while the Nepali Army would take the responsibility of treatment, security, and management.

On the occasion, Clinic Registrar and Colonel of the Nepali Army, Dr Suman Jung Dangol, briefed Deputy Prime Minister Pokhrel about the isolation center.
