Oxygen support removed after remarkable improvement in health



KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah has tested coronavirus negative nearly after 18 days in the hospital.

Former King Gyanendra Shah and Former Queen Komal Shah have been shifted to the ward from the intensive care unit (ICU) after remarkable progress in their health.

Issuing a press statement, Norvic International Hospital has informed that the former royals undergoing treatment against coronavirus since last 18 days have recovered well and have been shifted to the wards from ICU.

After they tested COVID-19 positive, the former royals had received plasma therapy treatment in the hospital.

Considering their health improvement, the hospital has removed oxygen support for both former royals.

Former Queen Komal Shah was shifted from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to the cabin after a gradual improvement in her health on May 8.

Former royals including then King Gyanendra Shah, Queen Komal, and their daughter Prerana Shah had been admitted to Norvic International Hospital on April 20 after testing positive for coronavirus.

The Shahs had received oxygen support for few days. With the gradual improvement in health, former King Gyanendra and his daughter were taken to the normal cabin, however, with many respiratory complications, former Queen Komal had been receiving plasma therapy treatment in ICU.

They had tested coronavirus positive after returning home from Kumbha Mela, Haridwar, India.
