Karnali Province govt recruits 120 health workers for COVID-19 response

SURKHET: The Karnali Province government has recruited a total of 120 health workers for prevention and control of the second wave of Covid-19 as well as to treat the infected ones.

The Ministry of Social Development in the province recommended recruitment of 120 staffers on the contract basis to address the medical human resource crunch at the time of health crisis like this.

The Ministry recommended appointment of 2 Ayurvedic doctors, 6 radiographer pharmacy assistants, 6 lab technicians and 76 staff nurses, informed Dr Rabin Khadka, Officiating Director at the Health Service Directorate in the province.

The new recruited health workers will be mobilized in healthcare centres in various districts in the Province on the basis of requirement.

Province’s Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Bimala KC, also Spokesperson, expressed her confidence that the newly recruited medical human resources would help in government’s effort to contain the Covid-19. KC said, “Earlier, many hospitals in the province could not render effective treatment to Covid-19 patients due to human resources.

Lately, we have recruited a huge number of medical human resources for Covid-19 response which I believe will aid our efforts to stem the spread of new variant of Covid-19.” All the newly recruited health workers have been directed to report to their designated duty stations within five days.
