Fire spreads in Shivapuri National Park



KATHMANDU: A fire has broken out at Shivapuri National Park in Nagarjuna area of Kathmandu on Sunday.

The fire that started to spread at around 10 am is yet to come under control.

DSP Roshan Khadka at Maharajgunj Police Station said fire engines of Kathmandu Metropolis, Budhanikantha Municipality, Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force have reached the area but fire engines alone have not been able to bring the fire under control.

According to security officials, preparations are underway to pour water from choppers to extinguish the forest fire.
