KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has called a meeting of all stakeholders of education sector for Monday to decide on the modality of teaching learning activities in the country if the pandemic threat persists.

Citing the increasing instances of coronavirus cases in schools, the Ministry of Health and Population has recommended for the school closure.

A meeting of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) on Saturday also proposed closing schools and colleges in high-risk areas for at least three weeks.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has convened a meeting of stakeholders to discuss the issue. Stakeholders have been called at the ministry tomorrow morning (Monday at 8 am).

MoE hopes to reach a substantive conclusion on whether to close the school or start teaching online if the coronavirus infection rate keeps rising.
