KATHMANDU: Waling Municipality Syangja defeated Chaudandigadhi Municipality of Udaypur 7-1 in the National Women’s League match on Thursday.

Metho Eludie Ruth scored five and Toua Oranella Evanick Noelle hit two for Waling. Anjana Thulung scored one for Chaudandigahi.

Metho opened the scoring for Waling in the 25th minute before Thulung equalized in the 32nd.

The equalizer, however, lasted only two minutes before Metho gave a 2-1 lead. She completed her hat-trick in the 44th minute.

Metho scored her fourth three minutes after the break and made it 5-1 in the 55th. Oranella scored in the 71st minute and added another a minute later to complete the win.

Waling’s coach Dilip Thapa said his team missed numerous goal-scoring opportunities despite the win.

“We should have scored more. We scored seven but missed a lot of others,” said Dilip Thapa.

Chaudandigadhi’s coach Dipak Thapa said they would play for points in the next three games. “We are pointless but we would like to change that in the next three matches,” said Dipak Thapa.

Waling lie third on the table with three points lead over Nepal Police Club, who have a game in hand. Chaudandigadhi, who scored their only second goal of the tournament, lies in the bottom.
