Habeas corpus petition filed at SC against Jhakri’s arrest



KATHMANDU: A petition has been filed at the Supreme Court (SC) seeking the release of the leader of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Ram Kumari Jhakri.

Advocate Gunaraj Acharya moved the apex court on Thursday with a habeas corpus petition against Jhakri’s arrest.

The court will hear the case on Sunday.

Police arrested Jhakri by handing over an arrest warrant to her under the ‘act of treason against the state’ from her Shankhamul-based residence at 1 pm today.
