KATHMANDU: Chairman of Samajwadi Party’s Federal Council and former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai has questioned why one should not speak after the President herself violated the constitution.

Condemning the arrest of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction leader Ram Kumari Jhakri, leader Bhattarai questioned if the government’s end is nearing.

He reminded that the constitution of Nepal has given freedom of opinion and expression to every citizen.

Police arrested Jhakri by handing over an arrest warrant to her under the ‘act of treason against the state’ from her Shankhamul-based residence at 1 pm today.
