With sunny days on, Kathmandu gets warmer

KATHMANDU: With the clear weather in different parts of the country including Kathmandu valley, the normal temperature in the country has gone up along with warmer days.

Meteorologist Prativa Manandhar said that the days are warmer with the rising temperature in the afternoon due to scorching heat of the sun.

She, however, said it does not mean that hot season way already around but the hot days were realised due to rising temperature in the afternoon due to clear weather for some days.

The cold will increase again if any weather system were developed, meteorologist Manandhar shared. According to the meteorologists, the thick cloud in the sky will work like a blanket which recedes the maximum temperature.

The temperature will also go down if there were rainfall but chances of immediate rainfall is unlikely.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said that there was no weather pattern to cause rainfall in the country anytime soon. Last year, the winter rain was recorded by January. However, this year winter rain has not occurred yet.

On Sunday and Monday, Kathmandu valley recorded equal 23.7 degree Celsius in maximum temperature.

Manandhar said that the maximum temperature from Tuesday is likely to decrease resulting in cold as sporadic rainfall is likely to occur in some places in the country.
