Ex-goalkeeper of national football team Shahi passes away

KATHMANDU: Former goalkeeper of Nepali National Football Team and former general-secretary of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Lok Bahadur Shahi passed away at the age of 65.

Suffering from different diseases since long, Shahi died at his house in Dailekh on Sunday night, said ANFA President Karma Tshering Sherpa. Final rites of Shahi would be performed today, according to family source.

He was goalkeeper of the Nepali National Football Team from 1979 to 1989. Shahi took retirement from the national team in 1989.

He was elected as general-secretary of ANFA in 2052 BS as well as elected as founding chairperson of Nepal Ice Hockey Association established in 2070 BS.
