Over 24,000 Nepalis return home from Saudi Arabia



KATHMANDU: As many as 24,963 Nepalis have returned home through chartered flights from Saudi Arabia. They had been stranded in the foreign land due to COVID-19.

Similarly, 65,240 Nepalis from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and 48,958 from Qatar have returned home.

The Saudi Arabian government is set to lift all restrictions from March 31, 2021, which were imposed to stem the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Likewise, international flights will operate regularly, according to the SPA, and all restrictions on the border between Saudi Arabia and Qatar have been lifted.

The government is going to issue health passports to those who have been vaccinated against the coronavirus. ‘

So far, more than 139,000 people in Saudi Arabia have been vaccinated, and even King Salman has already received the first dose.

Meanwhile, 3,63,809 people have been infected with COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia while 6,291 people have died from the virus.
