Current politics could not live up to people’s expectations: Ex-King Shah

KATHMANDU: Former King Gyanendra Shah has commented that the current politics is dishonest and could not live up to expectations of the people.

Shah further stated that he displayed a high level of sacrifice and honesty by relinquishing the throne.

“It’s getting late to assess how honest the current politics is and whether it is really working for the interest of the people and the nation,” said Shah in a press release issued on the eve of Prithvi Jayanti on Sunday.

Shah in the press release has alleged that the activities are on the rise to import foreign cultures by eliminating our home-grown history, civilization, religion and culture.

The politics should be the means of serving the people and the nation rather than working just the other way round, said Shah.
