KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has challenged former King Gyanendra Shah to contest the election if he has desires to rule the country.

Speaking at a program on Wednesday, Prime Minister Deuba warned former King Gyanendra not to make any statements and moves that are against democracy.

Reminding that he had been imprisoned for handing over everything except democracy to the former King, Prime Minister Deuba warned him not to go against the current system.

“I have repeatedly said that the alternative to democracy is democracy itself, and nothing else,” PM Deuba said.

Prime Minister Deuba also dubbed the current constitution as one of the best constitutions adding, “There are be some problems. However, it is inclusive, proportional and democratic.”
