KATHMANDU: Temperature across the country including in the Kathmandu Valley is gradually dropping as the winter sets in.

Today, the minimum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley was measured at 9.0 degrees Celsius.

According to Manju Basi, a meteorologist at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, cold has been primarily felt in the morning and evening these days. “Immediate winter rainfall is not likely,” she said. As the Department said, the cold arrives in Nepal with the influence of westerly wind.

Currently, the hilly areas of the country are partly cloudy and there is mainly fair weather in the rest of the country.
In the afternoon, there will be partly to generally cloudy weather in the hilly regions of Province 1, Bagmati Province, and Gandaki Province, and mainly fair weather in the rest of the country.

As per the latest updates from the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the maximum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley for today was 24.0 degrees Celsius.

Likewise, Jumla recorded the lowest -2.0 degrees Celsius followed by the highest 31.5 degrees Celsius in Janakpuri.
