Fraud promising permanent govt job to public falls in police net



SUNSARI: The Area Police Office, Dharan, has arrested a man for swindling money from public promising them a permanent government job.

According to Dharan police, Amar Bahadur Lamichhane alias Kumar Thapa Magar, 52, of Pashupatinagar-4, Mahottari has been arrested from his residence.

Police searched the room of Lamichhane’s house and found one digital stamp with Supreme Court Kathmandu written on it, one rubber stamp written by Public Service Commission Office, Kamalpokhari Kathmandu, one rubber stamp written secretly and one rubber stamp written ‘Confidential’ and one inscribed Jiba Lamichhane.

Similarly, the police seized the rubber stamps marked Government of Nepal, Ministry of Home Affairs, Police Headquarters, Kathmandu, Police Inspector, Under Secretary, Rastriya Banijya Bank, and Public Service Commission Office Dhankuta from Lamichhane.

According to the police, Lamichhane had been extorting money from people in various places including Dharan saying that he was an employee of the Public Service Commission and he could ensure a government job.

The police claim that they have been distributing the entrance test papers of the Public Service Commission by taking large amount of money from the public. An FIR was lodged against Lamichhane on September 8. He was arrested on the basis of the same.

According to the police, the Sunsari District Court has extended the time limit of seven days for further investigation into the case.
