Attorney Office to file review on Dhanusha Court’s Monday decision to acquit acid trader

The district court declared accused guilty but let acid trader go scot-free

KATHMANDU: The District Attorney Office is set to file a review on Dhanusha District Court’s decision to acquit the acid trader in an acid attack case.

Dhanusha District Court on Monday convicted Sanjeev Sah, 26, of Janakpurdham Sub-metropolis for attacking his wife Aarti Sah with acid but let acid trader Nagendra Sah get off scot-free.

Dhanusha District Attorney Sitaram Aryal said the decision would be appealed in High Court as soon as the final verdict arrives.

Victim Aarti reached the district court Tuesday questioning why the acid trader was allowed to go free. Meanwhile, police arrested and took her to the District Police Office.

Convicted Sah, 26, had attacked wife Aarti and daughter Riya with acid on November 4, 2020.
