Valley administrations ban vehicular mobility from 8 pm Thursday

Prohibitory order extended till August 24



KATHMANDU: The administrations of Kathmandu Valley have decided to stop private and public vehicles from plying the roads after 8 pm from Thursday.

A meeting of the Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur on Tuesday decided to impose the ban while extending the prohibitory order from August 12 to August 24.

Kathmandu CDO Kali Prasad Parajuli said as virus cases was surging it was decided to halt operation of vehicles during night.

However, there wont be any restriction on emergency vehicles, he clarified.

Bhaktapur CDO Prem Prasad Bhattarai added other modalities of past are as it is.
