PM Oli takes stock of flood-hit Melamchi Bazaar (Photo Feature)



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has taken stock of the flood-hit Melamchi Bazaar and Helambu rural municipality of Sindhupalchowk district on Saturday.

Prime Minister Oli inspected the region today which was devastated by floods and landslides induced by incessant rains on June 15.

Oli, who flew to the Melamchi Bazaar via a helicopter, talked to flood victims as well as the local representatives.

During his visit to the Melamchi Bazaar, he handed over a check of cash relief to the local unit provided by Melamchi Drinking Water Development Committee.

The Committee has provided a check of Rs 5 million to Helambu rural municipality and Panchpokhari Thangpal rural municipality in assistance.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Oli also made an aerial inspection of the main tunnel of the Melamchi Drinking Water Project.

Oli had been accompanied by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Basanta Kumar Nembang and former Minister Sher BahadurTamang.
