UML’s Khanal-Nepal faction lawmakers’ meet concludes

Lawmakers urge leadership to stay alert

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the disgruntled Khanal-Nepal faction lawmakers of ruling CPN-UML has ended on Saturday afternoon.

According to sources, the meeting of the lawmakers urged the task force members to be watchful of the possible treachery against the leaders.

“Prime Minister and Chairman KP Oli has been cunning and smart enough to fool us time and again, he has derailed the communist movement at a time it was excelling to the top in Nepal; so, the leaders have to be watchful of the proposals he comes with,” a lawmaker said about the conclusion of the meeting, adding “The dialogue can merely be a tool to drag us off the opposition alliance and prove us ‘untrustworthy’ in the eyes of the public. We should be careful.”

Consecutive meetings of the task force formed to resolve the intra-party dispute have prepared a blueprint for consensus. However, leader Nepal has made it clear that the signature for making Sher Bahadur Deuba the Prime Minister will not be withdrawn.

Pro-Nepal lawmakers have concluded that Oli has pretended to be consensual before the court’s decision and is likely not to care them after influencing the court’s decision.

Interestingly, amid the speculation that Chairman Oli and leader Nepal might ink the agreement prepared by the taskforce, PM Oli has gone to visit flood-affected areas of Sindhupalchowk.
