30 JSP lawmakers voted in HoR today; two absent



KATHMANDU: A total of 30 lawmakers, out of 32, voted in the special session of the House of Representatives (HoR) Monday.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli asked the President to convene Monday’s HoR session to seek a vote of confidence.

JSP lawmakers Laxman Lal Karna and Ruhi Naj were absent.

As many as 16 lawmakers from the erstwhile Rashtriya Janata Party (RJP) and 16 from the Samajbadi Party (SP) totaling 32 lawmakers represent the JSP in the HoR.

Two former SP lawmakers Uma Shankar Argaria and Bimal Srivastav have remained neutral. They were expected to vote against Prime Minister KP Oli.

Likewise, Mahendra Raj Yadav and Chandrakant Chaudhary of the erstwhile RJP have voted against the trust motion. They were expected to remain neutral.

Among those absent; Laxman Lal Karna formerly belonged to RJP and Ruhi Naz to the SP faction.
