UML leader Rawal says PM Oli has lost moral and legal grounds to issue whip

Says will abstain today's HoR session for party unity

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal has said that Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has no legal and moral grounds to issue whip and direct lawmakers to support his vote of confidence motion scheduled for Monday.

Speaking to the media person after the UML’s disgruntled Nepal-Khanal’s meeting in Kathmandu today, leader Nepal reiterated the need to restore the party into May 16, 2018 situation so as to ensure party unity.

“By dissolving the valid and elected committees at his whims, Chairman Oli has violated party constitution and deserves a disciplinary action,” he said, adding, “ How can a leader operating illegally and unethically take action against the ones abiding by the party constitution?”

Nepal-Khanal faction has been demanding that the party committees should be revived as of May 16 2018 and all reforms should start in the consultation of the elected committees if needed.

Leader Rawal remarked PM Oli’s response to the party leader Nepal’s letter as arrogant.

CPN-UML’s Madhav Nepal faction has decided not to attend today’s meeting of the parliament and has said it will not give a vote of confidence to PM Oli.
