We will consider joining govt only if our demands are met: JSP leader Mahato

KATHMANDU: Leader of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), Rajendra Mahato has said that they would consider power-sharing only when their demands, including that of constitution amendment, are fulfilled.

He said this while exiting from the meeting of the House of Representatives today. Leader Mahato reminded that they had withdrawn support to this government before this as it failed to fulfill the agreement reached with it with the condition that it would meet their demands.

He said that discussions would be held with all sides regarding those demands.

On the question of the talks team to hold discussions with the ruling CPN (UML), the JSP leader said the discussions were held on the issues and not on power-sharing.

JSP has put forth demands as constitution amendment, releasing its jailed leaders including lawmaker Resham Chaudhari and withdrawing cases against its cadres, among other topics.
