People are prepared for a revolt, warns NCP leader Sharma

KATHMANDU: Leader of the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Janardhan Sharma has warned that the country would plunge into unforeseen circumstances if the government suppressed people’s voices.

Alleging Prime Minister KP Oli for exchanging the constitution with the ‘chair’, former Home Minister Sharma said, “Listen to people’s voice, or else there will be a revolt,” Sharma warned.

Addressing a mass meeting organized against PM Oli’s decision of dissolving the House, he added that if people’s voices go unheeded, the country might even plunge into unforeseen circumstances.

Likewise, another leader Ram Kumari Jhakri labeled Prime Minister Oli a “paper tiger” and President Bidhya Devi Bhandari “PM’s pawn”.

Jhakri said, “We will continue to speak and raise our voice against regression, come what may.”

Jhakri also came down heavily on President Bidhya Devi Bhandari for what she said “damaging the reputation of the President’s institution.”

“She has been a pawn and a villain,” Jhakri added.

She also said that the House of Representatives will be reinstated at any cost.
